Yay for Baby Einstein!

We bought Kaylee a Baby Einstein DVD yesterday. She loves it, so we love it. It keeps her entertained, which is helpful. If anyone has suggestions on which ones are good, we'd love to hear them. We're looking into getting a few more for her to watch and enjoy.

Knock Out

Mark and I were enjoying a delicious cornbeef dinner tonght. Kaylee was being the little ball of energy that she typically is (crawling, falling, clapping, laughing, etc.). We decided to put her in her swing/chair to calm her down and keep her out of our dinners. Let me explain something before I continue...Kaylee is one to fall asleep quickly when she's tired. So, we placed her in her chair, where she was talking away. I placed the binki in her mouth and two minutes later we found her with her face in her feet (see below). What a character! She cracks us up and keeps our lives exciting!

Kaylee's Clap

We went to Kaylee's 9-month check up on Thursday (9/18). Dr. Harrison asked about Kaylee's development. She passed with flying colors except for the clapping test. Dr. Harrison told Kaylee that her next task would be learning how to clap. The minute we came home from her appointment, Kaylee learned how to clap! She hasn't stopped clapping...she's a baby on a mission (mission of perfecting the clap). While putting her down to bed, she'll be falling asleep when suddenly she lifts her head and claps her hands. Even during sleep, she's practicing her clap. It's great, you have to see it for yourself! Check out this video of her clapping... video

Kaylee in the Kitchen

Kaylee girl has discovered the kitchen cabinets and drawers. She is an aspiring cook! We hope she learns to cook soon so mommy and daddy can take a break! Now wouldn't that be wonderful.
She has found that the rice gives her an extra inch or two in reaching length. Mommy, look what I found!
Hmm...how does it work?
I don't even know what this is.
Oh well!
Mommy, I'm working here! Please don't bother me.

Collage of Happenings

Enjoying the fishes! Emery is such a great play mate. Thanks Britt for letting Emery play!
Oops! Kaylee got to the carrots!
Luckily, we caught her in time!
Proud to be a "Mililani Princess"! Thank you Papa and Grandma Miyamoto for my shirt! Having a very bad hair day!
VERY BAD! It's a good thing I don't have too much hair to mess up.
Doing Tae-Bo with Mommy.
Man, this is harder than I thought!

Kaylee's Funny Face Gallery

Welcome to Kaylee's Funny Face Gallery where you will laugh out loud. Take the time to look around and laugh as much as your cheeks will permit. And, don't worry Kaylee doesn't mind you laughing at her.

Kaylee's New Laptop

We bought Kaylee her own laptop, hoping it would distract her from destroying our laptops. Of course, she still enjoys attacking our laptops!

Our Family Picnic

Because of lack of funds, the Miyamoto family has had to be creative in their family activities. We have found ways to enjoy each other's company while spending little. We decided a picnic was a great way to have fun while giving our wallets a break. Therefore, this past Saturday, we enjoyed a little picnic in the park. We had a spam musubi lunch, with chips on the side. We took Kaylee down some slides, soaked in the sun, and enjoyed our day! Here are some pictures. PS: We're always open to good, cheap, family activity ideas. If you have any, send them our way! Thanks!

Hurricane Kaylee

I'm sure many of you know how difficult it is to contain a child once they're mobile. Well, Kaylee is quite the mobile baby. She's crawling back and forth in our apartment, getting into EVERYTHING, and loving every single minute of it. We call her Hurricane Kaylee! Here are a couple of pictures of a typical day in our house. And yes, Hurricane Kaylee hits every day!

Here's a video of Kaylee attacking the DVD rack.

Sunday Pictures

The last Sunday we were home, in Hawaii, we raced to the beach to get a few pictures of the sunset. After everyone had their share of nap time, we had just enough time to take 2-3 pictures before the sun completely sunk below the ocean. Luckily, the sun left some reminants of light. We got in a few good pictures before the sky went black. Here are some of my favorite...Enjoy!

With Papa and Daddy at the zoo.

I'm almost as big as this baby elephant.

Just don't drop me, Daddy.

I hope these goats don't bite.

It's been a long, hot day at the zoo.

Water makes me happy.

Sliding with Daddy.

With Daddy and Uncle Aaron at the waterpark.

Being lazy on the Lazy River.

Another beach day.

With Papa.

I'm not perfect.

My first feeding.

I put Uncle Aaron to sleep.

I would definitely beat Mommy in American Idol!

I'm learning to read.

My side smirk.

With Grandma.

Daddy dressed me today.

At Uncle Aaron's seminary graduation.

Advertising for Pier 49.

Loving the water.

Playing in my own pool.

Getting ready for church.

She made sure to hang on to it.

Kaylee didn't want to give up such a big bag of treats.

Kaylee's first day at the beach was on Memorial Day.
